The Level 3 Award in Education and training comes with the option to gain a level 4 Certificate, however you only need to obtain a Level 3 Award to Teach in further education sector or teach your own courses. However, if you do meet the criteria, you can gain the higher qualification.
Once Qualified you will be able to apply to become accredited with the Irish Awarding organizations (ABT, VTCT & ITEC) and then gain your Teaching Insurance to be able to offer your own qualifications/Courses or become a teacher in other colleges etc.
Our Teaching Qualification is Module Based and Continuously assessed so there is no big exam at the end.
Aim of programme: This award is designed to equip a wide range of teachers/trainers and facilitators with the requisite skills and knowledge needed to fulfil a teaching role. During this course you will learn about preparation, planning and basic course design. You will also gain teaching delivery skills and take part in microteaching sessions. Evaluation skills and techniques also form part of the course content. This qualification supplies a sound introduction to teaching/training and is suitable for both experienced practitioners who would like to secure a professionally recognised qualification as well as those new to teaching. The VTCT Level 3 Award in Education and Training will enable you to work in a teaching role and progress on to a broader teaching qualification.
What does this qualification cover?
This knowledge-based teaching qualification has no minimum teaching practice requirement and therefore may be taken by individuals who are not in a teaching role.
However, there is a minimum requirement to take part in micro teaching (peer teaching) which involves:
Planning an observed and assessed teaching session for a specific group of learners (usually the peer group of classmates).
Delivering and reviewing the session and responding to feedback from the observer and the ‘learners.
Trainee teachers who are already in a teaching role may be able to use their usual workplace teaching for this observed teaching session.
Trainee teachers must be involved in at least one hour of microteaching.
They must deliver at least one 15-minute or more microteaching session that is observed and assessed by a member of the delivery team.
For the additional 45 minutes, they can either deliver additional microteaching sessions or observe the microteaching of other trainee teachers.

Entry Requirements: American Beauty Requires learners to be:
Actively working in the industry, they wish to teach take part in
Participate in Classroom / Skill based Observations (Training environment) whilst taking part and enrolled on this qualification. You can observe online or in House (in our Academy or another) for a minimum of 15 hours.
You must also have a good level of English, maths and ICT skills
Course duration: 8 Sessions (ONLINE & IN HOUSE)
+ Practial assessments
Usually 1 class per month along with work experience day

On completion of this qualification the learner will Receive VTCT Qualification in Education and Training.
